Car parking signage is clearly displayed showing how to pay and where you can park.
You no longer need to obtain a physical parking ticket on entry. The parking system reads your vehicle registration plate when you arrive and leave.
You pay on exit - either by cash (both notes and coins), debit or credit card, or contactless at the pay machines. If paying at the machines, please make a note of your vehicle registration plate as you will need to enter this.
You can also pay via an app called Trust, which is available to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
There is a free 30-minute drop-off period in visitor car parks, which has increased from 15 minutes. If you are staying less than 30 minutes, you don't need to visit a pay machine as the barrier will lift automatically to let you out.
Parents and carers will have a reclining chair at the patient bedside. Due to space constraints and the importance of us being able to easily move around your child’s bedspace, only one parent is permitted to stay on the unit overnight. This maybe revised in exceptional circumstances following discussion with the Lead Nurse or Nurse in charge.
There is access to a visitor’s kitchen, which has facilities to make a hot drink, a fridge, and a microwave. There is a water fountain located near the nurse’s station.
Breakfast will be provided for parents/carers and all meals provided for the patients. Kings Mill Hospital has a canteen, volunteer café, Costa coffee, WHSmith and an M&S food shop. There is a supermarket next door.
Parents and carers will have access to toilet and shower facilities.
